Editorial standards
How SportsPulse Daily sources, checks and labels its football data.
These are the rules this desk works to. They are short on purpose.
1. Numbers come from the feed, never from memory
Every score, half-time score, points total, goal difference, position and matchday on this site is read from the Football-Data.org API at build time. Nothing is typed by hand and nothing is estimated. Where a figure is absent from the feed, it is absent from the page.
2. No facts we cannot verify
We do not publish goalscorers per match, assists, line-ups, substitutions, cards, injuries or quotes, because our data source does not provide them. A period of time between matchdays is labelled as a break, with the resume date, rather than filled with speculation.
3. Times are stated, not implied
Kick-off times are stored in UTC and displayed in the competition's own timezone and, where the reader's browser supports it, in the reader's local time. Pages never say "today" or "tonight" — they carry the date and the snapshot timestamp instead.
4. Our own calculations are labelled as such
Form strings (last five results), winning and losing streaks, home and away splits and point gaps are computed by this desk from the same match feed. They are our arithmetic on the feed's data, not third-party figures.
5. One byline, no invented reporters
Desk-written pieces carry the byline SportsPulse Daily staff. We do not invent reporter names or biographies.
6. No betting content
This site carries no odds, no tips and no staking advice of any kind.
